Happy Birthday to us! Theme Park Bites is officially a year old, woohoo!

But actually, it’s been a teensy bit over that. To be honest, the dates are a little fuzzy. I know I started sometime in the summer but since I don’t know the actual date I figured I’d designate August as the month that Theme Park Bites officially got off the ground. Seems like a great compromise.

The funny thing is that while this idea was in the back of my mind from the middle of the pandemic 2020 (I bought the domain then!) if I hadn’t plucked up the courage to actually do something about it this adventure would have never began and I wouldn’t have helped as many people as I have.

In the process I have learned a lot about myself and what I am capable of doing. Here are some stats and accomplishments (some of these are just because … because why not?).

Year 1 Stats & Accomplishments

1 – Knott’s Berry Farm was the most popular theme park I uploaded to the site. Y’all are some dedicated boysenberry fans and I respect it.

2 – Of the 16 theme park menus uploaded to the site, I went to 14 of those parks within the last year. Whew, insane!

3 – I technically started this blog a few years ago on YouTube with Six Flags New England at Baystate Fries, however, the very first set of theme park menus to appear on the site were from Lake Compounce. Gotta represent my little state of Connecticut.

4 – I started on Universal Orlando in March and never finished it. ? (It’s a lot, okay? I’m workin’ on it, swear). But I did engage in tomfoolery there and took photos when I normally would never do so.

5 – Had a lot of firsts: lots of festivals attended (Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras, EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts, and Flower and Garden), and I went to a lot of theme parks for the first time as well! Knott’s Berry Farm as my first Cedar Fair park, I went to SeaWorld for the first time (and the others under the company umbrella), Fun Spot locations, and honestly so many others.

It’s been a blast.

6 – Got to try foods that I otherwise would never go out of my way to try. That dish at FARTs with the beets? Yeah, never again with that, but glad I tried it.

7 – I’ve cried over menu data entry a couple times. It’s tedious, boring work, but I keep reminding myself of how many people I get to help when the pages are fully up.

8 – My friend watched me on her television when I dropped a video on YouTube for the first time in 2 years and then I proceeded to not post again cause I got post-upload stage fright. ?

9 – I have come to the realization that I have a theme park shirt! I don’t know if you notice if in the photos I’ve posted in this post, but I guess this is going to become a thing and I kind of like it and it’s giving me ideas. Hm.

10 – Wrote 45 articles this year (check out the blog if you haven’t!). Some have been great and others have left uhhh … yeah, a desire to wonder why I even wrote it, but it’s all a learning experience.

Thank You

I don’t expect many of you reading through this to think anything of this post, but I wanted to say thank you for visiting my little blog either way. It’s my happy place, my passion, and I am ready to grow if you’re ready to grow with me.

Bon appétit and thank you for allowing me to be your tasty theme park companion. ???
