Gator McGee’s

I think the name of this particular eatery is cute and gives the impression that you’ll be down in the Bayou eating alligator bites alongside smothered okra, but nope, it’s just a name! Although, it wouldn’t hurt if they really leaned into the name instead of into Italian fare which makes zero sense for the area that this eatery is in.

Instead you’ll only find pizza, which if I’m honest, is kinda lame. I have a feeling that they used to do Po’boys here though at one point. Anyway, they could make a killing here making beignets and crab cakes (and it would help that Maryland is literally obsessed with crabs!) if they ever wanted to go back that route – why they don’t, I will never know.

Where to find this building?

Located in the Mardi Gras neighborhood, Gator McGee’s can be found next to Hurricane’s and directly across from the railroad crossing.
